Moisture Mapping & Thermal Imaging

Find the Pattern. Trace the Likely Source. Document the Damage.

A water stain only shows where moisture became visible—not necessarily where it originated or how far it traveled. Right Choice Home Inspections LLC combines professional TRAMEX moisture-mapping equipment, thermal imaging, and material-specific measurements to identify elevated moisture patterns, document affected areas, and help trace the likely source and pathway of water intrusion.

More Than a Basic Moisture Check

Instead of testing only one or two locations, we collect organized readings across affected walls, ceilings, floors, concrete, and other accessible building materials. Those readings are compared with appropriate reference areas and plotted into an easy-to-understand moisture map.

This provides a clearer picture of:

  • Where elevated moisture is concentrated
  • How far the affected area may extend
  • Which materials require further evaluation
  • Whether surrounding areas are returning toward normal baseline conditions
  • Where additional investigation or repairs should be focused

Thermal Imaging Guided by Physical Measurements

Thermal imaging helps identify unusual surface-temperature patterns that may indicate moisture movement, missing insulation, air leakage, or other concealed conditions. Because a thermal image alone cannot confirm moisture, suspicious patterns are evaluated with professional moisture meters and other available evidence.

By combining thermal patterns, material readings, humidity, temperature, dew-point conditions, and visible building evidence, we can provide a more reliable assessment of the likely moisture source and affected area.
